Children’s Issues:

One of the most sensitive areas of family law are those that have to do with minor children. Any case involving a minor child must conclude with a Parenting Plan that establishes:

• Parental responsibility (who gets to make decisions concerning the child).
• Timesharing (how much time each parent spends with the child).
• Child support.

In Florida, every divorce case involving a minor child(ren), and every paternity case, must have a parenting plan that specifies the parties’ rights to make major decisions concerning the minor child(ren), how much time each parent will spend with their child(ren), and how much each parent needs to contribute towards the support of their child(ren). It is essential to be informed about the options in each of these categories to have a better chance of having a successful parenting plan that adequately meets your family’s needs.
